Balbir Panesar

Role

Chairman

Balbir founded Panesar Electrical Contractors as a one-man band, operating from a portakabin. Since then, he has grown the business dramatically to a team of over 100 people. Outside of work, Balbir enjoys spending time with his family, especially his grandson, Sachin!

Sohan Panesar

Role

Managing Director

After achieving a first-class Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Sohan joined PEC in 1999 as a Trainee PM, progressing through the ranks over the years, and in 2012 became a board member with his current title of MD. Sohan devotes his spare time to his family and enjoys football.

Suki Panesar

Role

Commercial Director

Suki has been part of PEC since 1993, starting out as an apprentice electrician. Having spent a number of years gaining experience and completing his training, Suki started managing M&E projects, and now holds the title of Commercial Director. Suki is an avid football fan, and loves spending time with his wife and children.

Steve Fowler

Role

Contracts Director

Steve’s background is in both retail and construction, starting as a Quantity Surveyor. During his 19 years with PEC, he has held the titles of Projects Manager, Projects Director, and is now Contracts Director. Outside of work, Steve likes nothing better than spending time with his family in countryside, especially the Dales and the Lake District.

Chris Stables

Role

Technical Director

Chris has been part of PEC for over 20 years, and has worked at all levels from site electrician through to his current position of Technical Director. Outside of work, Chris has a young family that keeps him well occupied, together with socialising with friends.

Steve Gunn

Role

Projects Director

Steve has a wealth of experience in managing sites and project management, working in the commercial, healthcare and retail sectors for a variety of clients. He likes to spend time at his bolthole in the North Yorkshire Moors, and enjoys natural history, cricket, motor sport, and classic cars.

Ian Leeming

Role

Project Manager (Mechanical)

During 20 years working within the mechanical service sector, Ian has gained a wealth of experience in supervision and management of various contracts, including for Morrisons, Asda, and Waitrose. He enjoys watching live football and playing snooker, and spending time with his two sons who also work in the mechanical and electrical industries.

Andrew Burgess

Project Manager

Andrew recently joined PEC’s growing management team and brings a wealth of site and project management experience with him. Having started as a skilled joiner on the tools, Andrew has taken to the management role over the past 5 years. Outside of work, he likes to spend quality time with his family.

Ruairi Docherty

Role

Project Manager

In February 2019 Ruairi joined the team at PEC as a Project Manager. He started his career as a site joiner and spent 10 years in this position from leaving school. Since then Ruairi has gained a wealth of experience in construction management which has included 2 years working in the Falkland Islands as an Approved Works Manager, and six years in the UK as a Contracts Manager.
In his spare time Ruairi enjoys going to gigs, frequently travelling to Spain, playing golf and is a keen football fan.

Darren Lloyd

Role

Project Manager

Darren joined PEC in May 2019 as a Project Manager. On leaving school he started a 4 year apprenticeship as a bench hand joiner. At age 25 he set up his own company and retail shop creating bespoke oak and pine furniture. At age 30 he expanded into the construction industry building house extensions and flat conversions. Darren also has extensive experience working in the area of commercial construction and ground works.
In his spare time Darren enjoys watching all motor sports, boxing and football. He also enjoys spending time with his family and watching a variety of programmes on TV.

Natalie Sykes

Role

Accounts Manager

Natalie started with PEC after leaving school in the role of General Office Assistant, and progressed to single-handedly running the Accounts and Administration departments aged just 25. Natalie enjoys socialising, and likes going out to the cinema, concerts and restaurants. She also spends her spare time cooking, holidaying abroad, and shopping!

Rebecca Fleming

Projects Coordinator / Marketing Manager

Rebecca joined the team at PEC in 2018. She has worked in the construction and property management sector for over 15 years where she has taken on various roles. She has also been involved in managing company marketing strategies and event planning /management.
Rebecca enjoys spending her spare time with her children, and travelling to new destinations exploring different cultures.

Emily Wright

Projects Administrator

After leaving school Emily joined PEC in 2007 as a junior admin assistant; she’s since led the admin department, and has now been promoted to assisting the Project & Estimating teams. In her spare time, she enjoys socialising and spending quality time with her family.

Peter Laing

Role

Senior Estimating Manager

With over 20 year’s continuous experience in an Estimating & Pre-Construction role, Peter re-joined P.E.C. in 2019. He has spent a number of years working with national building contractors, encompassing commercial, bid and supply chain management.
In his spare time Peter’s interests include golf, socialising with friends and jetting off on luxury holidays. He also enjoys spending quality time with his two daughters Jessica and Olivia.

Dean Draper

Role

Production Manager

Dean has been working in the field of joinery since the age of 16. He started as an apprentice bench-hand joiner and is often thrilled at seeing ideas turn into drawings, progressing ultimately into pieces of stunning bespoke joinery. He has 32 years of experience in joinery manufacturing and install. He loves to offer ideas and solutions to clients’ individual joinery needs. Dean and his wife Shelley like to spend their spare time walking their Rhodesian Ridgeback, called Ruby. His interests also include wildlife, football and boxing.

Anthony Brannan

Role

Projects Technician / Site Manager

In 1998 Anthony started a full time modern apprenticeship in carpentry and joinery. During his apprenticeship he represented Yorkshire in carpentry competitions with contestants competing throughout the U.K. Anthony joined PEC in 2011, soon after joining and from the age of 23, he has been responsible for overseeing projects as a Site Foreman. His first job consisted of converting an old school into 11 apartments. He now has completed a number of contracts as a Site Foreman for many of the company’s high profile clients. Since joining PEC he has achieved an NVQ Level 3 in Site Supervision.

Kevin Booth

Role

Electrical Engineer

Kevin started with the company in 1995. He has completed an apprenticeship and various other qualifications up to now whilst holding a role as an NICEIC qualified supervisor within PEC. His role includes delivering a high standard of work to various clients by overseeing teams of electricians installing, testing and inspecting electrical systems. Kevin is a keen sports fan and enjoys going to music gigs in his spare time.
