The main purpose was to refresh their appearance and improve the quality of the environments. The refurbished areas included working in three live secure wards; Thornton, Baildon and Ilkley which provide assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of its service users. Works were also completed in communal areas on the ground and first floor, including the visitor room, gym area and various group rooms plus external Courtyards. Included in the scope of works was the reconfiguration of the former production kitchen into an activity space on the ground floor of the building.
