London Office For Bradford’s PEC

PEC, a Bradford-based contracting, manufacturing and shopfitting firm, has opened a London office as part of ambitious plans to grow the business by £2m this year.

The company, established in 1977, has grown from a one-man operation into one of Yorkshire’s leading companies offering commercial fit-out, refurbishment, bespoke joinery manufacture and project management to UK and European clients in the public and private sectors. The company is based at a custom-built headquarters in Bradford, with a bespoke joinery manufacturing facility and office space, and over 100 direct employees. Its impressive client list includes Magnet, Homebase, Kwik-Fit, Crown Paints, Morrisons, Bupa, Q Park, Jewsons, Villeroy & Boch, Aagrah Restaurants and NHS Trusts.

Speaking about the opening of the London office, PEC Chairman, Balbir Panesar, said: “Yorkshire and Bradford will always be the centre of our operations. However we realise that in order to win more business we need to have a London presence. I will be going to London on a regular basis to develop business by networking with existing and new clients.”

PEC’s new London office is on Grosvenor Square, in the exclusive Mayfair district.

The London office opening comes at the same time as the company announces a new management team structure, following the appointment of a new managing director at the start of the year. Founder Balbir Panesar now takes the role of chairman, charged with developing national and international business, while his son Sohan Panesar assumes day-to-day control of the business with a management team that has been restructured to deliver ambitious growth plans which build on the company’s previous track record.

Financial director Steve Fowler has been with the company for 14 years, watching it grow and grow, attracting blue-chip clients. Commercial director Suki Panesar started his PEC career in 1993 as an apprentice electrician, while technical director Chris Stables joined 22 years ago, working his way up from site electrician to site manager and projects estimator. Newly appointed projects director Johnny Bubbra was Homebase’s “Star Performer” in its Big Ticket Personality of the Year Awards 2011.

“We’ve been quietly successful, winning repeat business thanks to the commitment and quality of our team approach to projects. The time has come to shout about our expertise and abilities, and the management team felt it was important for our growth to have a physical presence in the UK’s largest market from where we can sell our services, thereby bringing more business and creating jobs into the Yorkshire community,” said Managing Director, Sohan Panesar.

“Without doubt, this prestigious address gives us a high quality platform to raise our profile with businesses in the capital. In the current economic climate, we have to explore every opportunity to push our offer for the benefit of our local economy.”
