P.E.C. successful completion of the Tomotherapy project secured this exciting contract for Genesis Healthcare’s delivery of patient services within the Bupa Cromwell Hospital.
This fast paced project, in four overlapping phases, has presented several significant challenges for P.E.C. including the maintaining of essential hospital services throughout the work area and the full replacement of existing treatment bunkers for new state of the art Radiotherapy and Gamma Knife operations in a live hospital.
Works have allowed for patient care continuity within and around the work areas for both Genesis and Bupa. Through careful planning, night work and a high emphasis on personnel and formal communication, the process has formed a strong partnership with our clients and has delivered the high level of technical and visual finish required to meet the projects design intent, whilst maintaining the ambiance expected in a world renowned private health care hospital.
Specialist bunker work included installing 40 tonnes of steel plating to provide a protective barrier and extensive diamond drilling works to remove sections of structural concrete wall and floorings, without noise or dust disruption to the private hospital.
