P.E.C. were awarded this 3-phase Nightingale style refurbishment contract after a competitive tender process.
Our knowledge and expertise with heavily phased ward refurbishments has resulted in us developing an extensive team of partnering suppliers and specialist subcontractors who, like ourselves, are used to delivering critical path work for hospital projects.
The Ward 4 works included the install of structural steel to support floors, with the components been brought in through the hospital out of hours.
The shortened components were then bolted together to form 12m beams for installation across the wards as part of wall compartmentalisation.
As the ward had high levels of asbestos in both the floors and ducting areas all the works were conducted on a strict permit to work basis, with the asbestos removal company working in sealed sections, and all building works been performed under the asbestos air testing rules and certification.
P.E.C. were delighted to complete this project on budget and within the tight timescale set by the client, whilst also delivering the highest level of finish.
